I was wondering what does it mean to take 1 year in chemistry (organic and general) biology and physics? I'm just a high school senior and i wanna know this before i got off to college, if someone could help me i'll appreciate it.
The college I went to had classes divided by semesters (some college have trimesters). With semesters, you have fall and spring semester (2 semesters per academic year, not including summer semester which most people don't attend). My first year, I took biology and chemistry - so first semester I had biology I and chemistry I. Second semester I had biology II and Chemistry II. After my first year, I had completed "1 year of biology and 1 year of general chemistry".
does that explain what you wanted to know?
A year is... well... a year. 🙂
One of my undergrad colleges had trimesters, which meant three sequential classes in an academic year (Biology 101-102-103, for example). However, another school I attended has semesters (Biology 101-102), but the amount of information covered was the same.
The main thing is that you will want to take the "cycle" of the class, and your pre-med advisor will give you the scoop on how it works at your college... asssuming you have a good advisor.
Hey, if you don't, you can always ask Dr. Admin! 😉
