Hi everyone, I was wondering is there tutoring that you can pay for in order to prepare for the MCAT? I Mean what would be the best way to score high on it?
The most popular study aids seem to be Kaplan review classes and Princeton review. If you have specific areas of weakness, I'm sure you could find someone willing to go over those areas as a tutor - probably best to find someone at your college.
The best way to score high - there is no magic to it. Basically, you have to know the subject areas well - chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, physics, and be good at the verbal (and now essay section). If you studied hard during your pre-med classes, and did well in those courses, you should be well prepared for the MCAT.
I think that, aside from the pre-med classes you have to take anyway, the best tutor is the MCAT exam itself. If you can get your hand on timed exams and study them diligently, IMHO that will help a ton.
Kaplan and Princeton Review are also fine (I went the PR route), but I found the exams and test questions to be of the most value.
Best wishes on your MCAT adventure! 😎
